Reiki meditation is a meditative state in a class all of its own. While the basic principles of meditation are in tact, there are a few significant differences. Enlightenment is achieved through many different avenues. There are varied forms of meditation with cultural differences in the light that is being sought. Each is unique in its own right, and are believed to provide a center from which the soul can operate more efficiently. Reiki, however, is more than one’s channeling of a spiritual energy that will heal his own life.
Meditation provides a place of quiet concentration where the mind and soul may intertwine. Additionally, it is a state of relaxation, in which the mind, body, and soul is aligned in a unique ability to ‘absorb’ answers of divinity. Many believe that daily meditation is a vital step to acquiring all of the wonders of life that are possible to attain. It is said that a focused meditative state can lead to many levels of spiritual awakening, thus spawning positive change and growth in the life of the person practicing the meditation.
Although the acquisition of spiritual enlightenment is sure to manifest itself in the manner in which the enlightened individual treats those around her; when compared to Reiki meditation, it seems somewhat…Selfish.
Admittedly, that is such an ironic word to use. There is hardly anything selfish about seeking to be closer to the Universe. Reiki, however, is the ultimate quest to selflessness. Reiki transcends the desire to become at one with the Universe for an individuals quest for self understanding and inner peace. Reiki is the act of seeking out the power and wisdom that will allow the individual to successfully heal sufferers of ailments that are said to result from spiritual sickness.
Meditation is the art of listening…Listening to God, or the Universe, or to the energy to which you look for guidance. Regular meditation is one based on a platform of self understanding and spiritual wisdom. Reiki is more of an absorption of answers to the negativity that drives those around us…Seeking a vision of clarity to the poisons of the soul and how they translate into physical suffering.
In both regular meditation and that inspired by Reiki, the art of listening must surpass our preconceived misconceptions about life and spirituality. There must be an element of willingness to not let the conscious mind sway the translation of the information received from Spirit. This is why Reiki is not able to be practiced by those who have not experienced some level of higher understanding.
Reiki involves the healing of a soul through divine energy. It may as well go without saying that not just anybody has the emotional vastness to harness the understanding to heal. Having said that, it is possible for anybody to benefit from meditation and divine spiritual understanding. It also may be possible for any given person to then ‘graduate’ to the next level. If you look at meditation in the form of a hierarchy, Reiki meditation would have to be at the top of the pyramid.
